Summary:
An industry leading Ocean Transportation company is looking to hire an Account Specialist. This is a full-time permanent position that offers benefits from day 1.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee account performance and growth, focusing on business retention and development.
* Build strong client relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with sales, commercial teams, agencies, and domestic/overseas offices to secure new business and maintain service quality.
* Manage a structured call cycle with assigned accounts as per management standards.
* Oversee service contracts, processing renewals per sales management timelines.
* Keep customer records up to date per Sales Standards (e.g., account profiles, contact details).
* Address customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
* Assist in problem-solving for customers and support Account Executives.
* Support sales objectives by analyzing leads, competitor data, and reports to target key/new accounts.
* Stay informed on tariff and rate changes, coordinating with Pricing and other offices.
* Utilize company systems and tools (e.g., Stars Tariff, Sales & Marketing Reports, Trade Database) in daily tasks.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
* 2+ years of inside sales, customer service, or sales support experience
* Sales or customer service background in Freight Forwarding/Ocean Transportation preferred
* Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to travel domestically if necessary
* Excellent communication skills
