Description

Direct the Specialty Actuarial function in pricing and actuarial analytics. The role oversees the actuarial strategy and contributes to the strategic direction of a multi-line portfolio of specialty insurance products globally as part of the Executive team. The role is responsible for ensuring quality Actuarial analysis, providing advice for establishing Pricing, and driving the execution of Actuarial analytics across the Specialty organization. The role also leads maturity of the divisions Actuarial capabilities and solutions to enable the achievement of corporate and business objectives and establishes a culture of leveraging analytics for creating business value.


Responsibilities

Provide guidance and insightful leadership to the US pricing team and define and execute the US pricing strategy, including:

  • Increase active portfolio management to drive growth in underwriting income.
  • Rate change reporting.
  • Predictive analytics and models.
  • Profitability reviews.
  • Rating tools/account pricing.
  • Portfolio Management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or Statistics or related field of study.
  • ACAS or 5+ exams in current pursuit of ACAS.
  • 12 + years of actuarial experience in multiple lines of commercial E&S products; casualty lines focus preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to management and other functional areas.
  • Ability to interact and work within a team environment and approach actuarial work as a collaborative product.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Proficient PC skills developed through extensive use of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Proficiency with Snowflake/SQL, R Studio, Anaconda/Python, PowerBI.
  • Broad overall knowledge of insurance.
  • Experience with Management Liability a plus and familiarity with ISO.
  • Property catastrophe modeling familiarity.
  • Expert knowledge of capital allocation and risk-adjusted return models.
  • Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to quickly evaluate the accuracy of information.
