Job Overview

XPECT Solutions is looking for an experienced Cloud Developer in an effort to support our Federal Customer out of Washington, DC. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the cloud service delivery models and architectural framework to enable platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), and data as a service (DaaS). The Cloud Developer should be able to implement automation for cloud resources using DevSecOps best practices. This position will also analyze applications and make recommendations across multiple areas that identify what platforms can move, migrate, and/or be deployed into a cloud environment. The successful candidate should be capable of providing strategies for failure/recovery, cost optimization and benefit analysis of cloud, cloud agnostic, and on-site premise services. They will work independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software.

Core Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing cloud applications
• Migrating existing on-premises applications to the cloud
• Debugging cloud stacks
• Managing policies for the use of cloud services requests for new technology
• Establishing a secure cloud environment
• Ensuring appropriate availability/up time design

Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance (w/ the ability to obtain an SCI)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with major cloud providers (such as AWS or Azure).
  • Associate level certification is a substitute for 2 years’ experience.
• Experience with AWS services (i.e. CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS)
• Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
• Have planned and led major technology assignments/projects
• Experience in evaluating performance results and recommending major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Have functioned as a technical expert across project assignments.
• Possess the knowledge experience and ability in hosting AWS applications.

Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications

• AWS Associate or Professional Level Certifications
• Experience with Docker and AWS ECS
• Programming Languages: Java, HTML, JavaScript, C#, .NET Suite, AWS Suite with Lambda
• Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, REST, JSF, Hadoop, HIVE, AngularJS, ReactJS, AWS Services (S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Code Commit/Build/Deploy/Pipeline, ECR, ECS)
• Software/COTS: NetOwl NLP, Solr/Elasticsearch, Accumulo, Hadoop, Apache Storm, Docker, Apache NiFi
