The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of Backend and Frontend Engineers tasked with rapidly developing and deploying AI-driven solutions on the new platform. In this role, you will work closely with the leadership of Epiq AI Labs to translate strategic goals into actionable execution plans, resource allocations, and team objectives. This collaboration will enable you to turn high-level visions into tangible deliverables, supporting your team’s ability to execute effectively on technical goals that align with both business and user needs.

Your day-to-day may include aligning team resources with project priorities, facilitating cross-functional integration of backend and frontend components, and ensuring that AI features are built with scalability and performance in mind.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Work with Epiq AI Labs leadership: Collaborate closely with leadership to translate strategic goals into tactical execution plans, aligning team resources, priorities, and timelines with business objectives.
  2. Lead and develop a cross-functional engineering team: Manage and mentor a team of backend and frontend engineers, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  3. Oversee AI feature integration: Partner with AI researchers and engineers to implement AI-powered features, ensuring seamless interaction between backend systems and frontend user experiences.
  4. Coordinate architecture and scalability efforts: Guide the team in building scalable backend systems and data structures, ensuring that new AI-driven capabilities integrate smoothly with the platform.
  5. Promote best practices and high standards: Uphold coding standards, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of quality within a fast-paced CI/CD environment to ensure robust, production-ready code.

What We Require

  1. Proven experience in engineering management or technical leadership: Track record of successfully managing cross-functional engineering teams in a backend and frontend-focused environment.
  2. Technical expertise in backend and frontend systems: Hands-on experience with scalable API design, frontend frameworks, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.
  3. Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  4. Strong organizational skills: Ability to plan, resource, and manage projects effectively, coordinating with leadership to align team efforts with leadership goals.

The Compensation range for this role is 105,711.30 - 211,422.00 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
