Description:
This position works with a cross-functional group and is β€œhands-on” to design, develop, validate, launch, and support new products as they move through the NPD product life-cycle. This individual may lead 1-3 projects simultaneously, managing all aspects of the development cycle to ensure targets are met. This role reports to the Product Development Engineering Director but can function independently with little oversight.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfill all responsibilities outlined in the Engineer II job description.
  2. Apply engineering fundamentals to perform hand calculations to support design decisions.
  3. Manage all project-related details throughout the entirety of product development.
  4. Work interdepartmentally to track the required cross-functional activities.
  5. Develop and maintain project schedules that reflect critical milestones and drive projects to the commitment date.
  6. Track and maintain project/product costs and ensure BOM & project budget targets are achieved.
  7. Work with purchasing, suppliers, and quality engineers to communicate requirements and ensure parts and products meet specifications and are approved.
  8. Carry out risk mitigation action plans when critical requirements are in jeopardy.
  9. Oversee pilot runs to ensure products are properly manufactured and in sufficient quantity to meet test needs.
  10. Oversee validation and approval processes to ensure key specification and performance requirements are met and regulatory listings are achieved.
  11. Report project status summaries as needed.
  12. Support Supply Chain projects to optimize product costs.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in engineering; Masters of Science in engineering is a plus.
  2. Preferred accreditation: Project management, DFSS, and DFM.
  3. 4+ years of engineering experience (3+ engineering design & 1+ project management).
  4. Experience having led at least one major development project from concept to launch.
  5. Experience with discipline-specific design tools (SolidWorks or PCB layout).
  6. Proficiency with MS Project scheduling capabilities.
  7. Experience with hands-on prototype, build, and test in a laboratory environment.

Target Salary Range: $90-100k
