What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a dynamic purchasing associate to join IMS. In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for procuring company supplies and services while ensuring compliance with established company policies and procedures. This includes coordinating with vendors, managing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records to support organizational goals. Your duties will also include establishing positive relationships with our vendors and maintaining a detailed record of all purchase orders.

To ensure success as a purchasing associate, you have the ability to interact effectively with staff members in all departments. An outstanding purchasing associate should have strong business acumen, as well as a detailed, nuanced understanding of the buying process.


How You’ll Make an Impact:

Vendor Management:

  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and delivery standards are met
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery & compliance to terms of contract

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels
  • Verify receipt of goods by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipment errors with suppliers

Procurement Process:

  • Issue purchase orders (PO’s) and manage procurement cycle from order placement to delivery.
  • Verify order accuracy, including quantities, pricing, specifications, and delivery dates.
  • Provide purchasing planning by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data based on trends
  • Manage the procurement process, including oversight of the drop-ship cycle from start to finish, and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Monitor, track and expedite orders

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, such as operations, sales, finance, customer service, to understand procurement needs.
  • Provide timely updates on order statuses and potential supply chain risks.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate procurement records.


What You Bring to the Table:


Required Skills:

  • Proven prior work experience as a Purchasing Agent
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication, organization & analytic skills
  • Knowledge of financial best practices and the buying process
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with personnel, suppliers, and management
  • Experience navigating different computer systems and applications
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to pivot to changing priorities as seen by management
  • High School Diploma/GED
