As a Risk Control Manager Vice President in Business Banking Risk, you will be part of an agile, future focused, and collaborative team. On any day of the week, you might assess the operational strengths and vulnerabilities involved in a recent acquisition, design enhancements to our business platform to support new and existing products, develop an advanced technology solution built with machine learning to drive process improvement, or proactively identify and respond to high profile issues or emerging risks of utmost importance to C-suite level executives.

Job responsibilities:

1. Provide operational risk guidance and analysis for new business/products/initiatives/M&A.
2. Identify, assess, advise, and drive strategic solutions to increase efficiency and create a more resilient operating environment.
3. Ensure effectiveness of key controls and lead communications with regulatory and audit bodies, both internally and externally.
4. Oversee governance of business operational risks, escalating issues appropriately to line of business and Firmwide operating committees.
5. Collaborate with senior business clients and partners across functional areas (e.g., Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies.
6. Provide comprehensive and consistent reporting of exams, issues, priorities, and commitments to increase transparency.
7. Enforce best exam management practices and increase transparency and accountability: e.g. providing guidance related to exam management responses.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

1. Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk, Control, or overall CORE structure.
2. Experience with and knowledge of the Business Banking and applicable regulations.
3. Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management with the ability to make subjective and informed decisions.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner.
6. Solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data & formulate appropriate conclusions and able to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design.
7. Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
