Senior Analyst, Commercial Analytics

Job Description

Position Overview

As an Analyst, Commercial Analytics, you will work with Commercial Execution and Commercial Transactions to evaluate market opportunities and make recommendations to Senior Management.

Responsibilities

1. Provide data and analysis of commodities, nodal prices, RECs, and other fundamental factors that affect development opportunities.
2. Develop computer applications, analytical tools, and models to store and evaluate market data that support Development and Marketing efforts.
3. Forecast electricity and related markets needed for Development and ISO/RTO bidding strategies.
4. Provide analytical support to Development and other internal and external market agents to support the company’s projects.
5. Value PPAs to support renewable and/or thermal Development.
6. Maintain and contribute to generation asset valuation models to support capital decision making.
7. Aid Marketing and Origination in the development of quantitative presentation materials for specific customers and/or generation projects.
8. Effectively communicate quantitative concepts and conclusions to a variety of audiences including senior management.

Qualifications

1. Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or related.
2. 1+ years of work experience.
3. Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred

1. Experience in a utility environment preferred.
2. Exceptional problem-solving skills.
3. Demonstrable familiarity with statistical modeling and use of software packages and common data sources.
4. Excellent Excel skills.
5. The candidate will possess effective written and oral communications skills to convey knowledge about commodity markets and its impact on electricity markets and customers.

Base Pay

80,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD Annual Bonus: 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
