Senior Business Applications Analyst – Epic Population Health

Job Description:

Join one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine , as a Senior Business Applications Analyst – Epic Population Health for the Information Technology department. This is a remote, work from home opportunity and you may be based outside of the greater Chicagoland area.

In this role, and under general direction, the Senior Business Applications Analyst - Epic Population Health formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.

Essential Job Functions

1. Design, build, and test Applications to address complex business requests
2. Analyze business and user needs, documentation of requirements and workflows
3. Troubleshoot and fix complex application issues
4. Provide on-call support
5. Guide and mentor less-experienced Business System Analysts
6. Work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems
2. Epic Health Planet and Compass Rose certification
3. Minimum of three years’ experience with information system software solutions
4. Solid understanding of underlying technologies: hardware, networking, Intranet, Internet, PDA, bar coding and wireless
5. Issue tracking and resolution skills
6. Ability to prioritize, organize, and assess work to meet aggressive deadlines
7. Familiarity with tools and concepts of process improvement desired, including methods analysis, work sampling, statistical analysis, financial analysis, and systems analysis
8. Experience developing presentations for project work
9. Ability to work well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and interact with others at all levels of the organization
10. Solid skills in documenting and analyzing business processes
11. Proven skills in problem solving
12. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills
13. Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants
14. Ability to maintain a professional attitude in both normal and pressure situations

Preferred Qualifications

1. Epic Care Everywhere and CareLink certifications
2. Experience with Arcadia
3. Experience with Epic Cogito tools
