Your Role at Baxter
The Technical Communication team at Baxter Front Line Care is looking for a new team member with translation management and CCMS administration skills. This position supports the configuring, implementing, and supporting the Front Line Care MadCap IXIA CCMS alongside our lead CCMS administrator. The position may also be assigned a project management role for new implementations and special projects, like pilots in other business units to scale the system. This position is also responsible for the development of functional specifications and testing of development projects as assigned by the manager.

Job duties

  • Packages CCMS content for translation quote, and creates and manages shopping carts to secure translation purchase orders.
  • Prepares outgoing translation packages from the CCMS for delivery to translation vendor.
  • Processes incoming translations from the translation vendor.
  • Assists with troubleshooting system issues, submission of tickets, etc.
  • Prepares implementation plans for CCMS prospects.
  • Enhances and develops documentation to support use of CCMS.
  • Trains Tech Comm team members and prospective users of the CCMS.
  • Creates and updates stylesheets.
  • Updates DTDs.
  • Performs data analysis of system metrics.
  • Assists with transfer/conversion of non-XML content to XML in CCMS.
  • Explores opportunities for using approved Generative AI tools to support standard work.

What You'll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology or Systems Management preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or related field of study is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • Proven writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to adjust writing style and content according to audience needs, including clinicians/operators, technicians and engineers, and patients or home users.
  • Proficiency with commonly used XML authoring and non-XML publishing tools (oXygen, Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop).
  • Proficiency administering a CCMS.
  • Working knowledge of Technical Communication practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Familiarity with document production processes for print, CD, and web-based publication.
  • Aptitude to work with numbers and a high volume of data.
  • Aptitude to understand and manipulate XML code.
  • Commitment to collaboration and open communication with manager and team.
