Senior Data Engineer / First Hire

We are an ambitious startup building innovative Brokerage software to impact the Live-Entertainment industry and looking for someone to join our Chicago office as our first Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our data infrastructure and driving our company’s technological roadmap.

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Data Engineer to join our founding team. This individual will need a deep understanding of Python and SQL, a willingness to wear multiple hats, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to define and execute our technical vision.

You will be instrumental in building a secure and scalable data architecture from the ground up, enabling seamless data flow, creating robust APIs, and ensuring our platform is designed to grow with the business.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Proficient in Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline creation.
2. Hands-on experience designing and building data warehouses from scratch.
3. Familiarity with modern data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, DBT, etc.).

1. Proven track record in data engineering roles, preferably in startups or fast-paced environments.
2. Experience enabling secure and scalable data platforms with a focus on growth.
3. Strong understanding of API design and implementation.
4. Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to consult with non-technical stakeholders.
6. Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for problem-solving.
