Title: Senior Manager Accounting Policy

Essential Job Duties

  1. Partner with finance and functional leaders to develop, implement, and operationalize standardized accounting policies and procedures.
  2. Promote global consistency, adoption of best practices, and alignment with US GAAP in finance and other business transformation initiatives.
  3. Develop, update, and maintain accounting policy documentation and related training materials, focusing on widespread access and improved usability.
  4. Serve as a resource to the organization on accounting policy application and best practices.
  5. Lead efforts to standardize and maintain processes around finance master data (i.e., charts of accounts).
  6. Perform technical accounting research on accounting matters raised by management or the field; lead or support efforts to draft related white papers.
  7. Provide support to international operations related to local / US GAAP conversion and other technical matters.
  8. Provide technical accounting guidance and expertise to business leaders and/or the business development team to support special projects and transactions.
  9. Lead efforts to implement new accounting standards as they become effective.
  10. Assist in reviews of external filings to provide policy viewpoint and technical accounting support.
  11. Work with field and finance personnel to document new and/or unique accounting transactions.
  12. Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  1. Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards.
  2. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance, and administering corrective action for staff.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree.
  2. 7+ years related experience in public accounting, corporate accounting and/or financial analysis.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Master’s degree in accounting, or other advanced degree in Business.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  3. Public Accounting experience.
  4. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  2. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  3. Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
  4. Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
  5. Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents, and practices.
  6. Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  7. Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.
  8. Prioritize, organize, and oversee tasks and projects: responsible for outcomes.
