Senior Structural Project Engineer - Buildings

National Award-Winning Engineering Firm is seeking a highly motivated Senior Structural Project Engineer. This position requires you to work with a growing structural engineering group on a diverse variety of projects. Project work currently includes academic, municipal, industrial, and transportation. The Structural engineering team uses the latest technologies and scientific principles to develop forward-looking solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Highly proficient with structural design expertise as part of a project team or independently and coordinate with other disciplines in achieving design solutions.
2. Strong knowledge of structural engineering design solutions for buildings and structures integrating project objectives and design criteria.
3. Interact and communicate effectively with design team members.
4. Deliver complete and accurate structural designs and prepare structural drawings and details on-time and within design budget.
5. Assure compliance with company quality control program.
6. Check work of others as assigned.
7. Review construction shop drawings and submittals.
8. Certify engineering design documents as required.
9. Meet with clients, prepare proposals, and business development.
10. Ability to work creatively to reach solutions to complex problems.
11. Manage multiple project assignments, executing them on time and within budget.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) with Structural Engineering emphasis (M.S. Engineering preferred).
2. 15 years related work experience.
3. Strong understanding and ability to prepare design of structural steel, concrete, wood/timber, and masonry components and framing systems.
4. Working knowledge of IBC, AISC, and ACI Building Codes.
5. Professional Registration: Professional Engineer.
6. Professional Registration: Structural Engineer is preferred, not necessary.
7. Working knowledge and proficiency with computer aided structural analysis/design software such as RISA 3D, Tekla Fastrak, TEDDS.
8. Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
