Overview
The Director of Property & Casualty Solutions (DPCS) will report to the National Property & Casualty Leader. The DPCS will work closely with Alera Group Leadership, the Property & Casualty Executive Council, Insurance Alliance and Managing Partners of Alera Group firms, to create an aligned culture around consistent, sustained, and effective property & casualty solutions and practices in support of short and long-term business plans – including operating and financial objectives.
The DPCS will be an experienced P&C professional with a broad and developed technical background in both the property and casualty disciplines across a variety of industry verticals. This will include familiarity with and knowledge of underwriting, program design, limit review and benchmarking, loss forecasting, general principles of risk management, experience modification review, coverage placement, carrier relationships, market security and international networks. The DPCS will also have working knowledge of claims advocacy and general loss control principles.
The DPCS must be able to collaborate with sales & service team members across Alera Group. The DPCS must also be able to effectively develop and implement internal education subject matter within our Alera Academy platform.
The DPCS will be supported through a small team of direct reports that will be added in accordance with organizational needs, as well as P&C professionals embedded in Alera Group firms.

Qualifications
Candidates will be required to have a bachelor's degree in business or related disciplines such as finance, accounting, operations, marketing, or communications. A graduate degree or MBA is not required but would be helpful. An active Property & Casualty license is a requirement. Proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
Functional Experience
Alera Group is looking for a strong business and operationally oriented professional who has 15 years plus of insurance brokerage, underwriting/technical experience, risk management with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior property & casualty leadership position. Successful candidates will have likely progressed through a variety of property & casualty functions including account management, business development, and client support. Candidates will want to serve as the strategic partner of the National Property & Casualty Practice Leader and the leadership team and have a demonstrated track record of success supporting property & casualty operations at both small and large firms.
Industry Experience
Extensive knowledge of property and casualty insurance coverages, including program structures. A sound understanding of the client life cycle, including client acquisition, placement, binding, servicing and renewal processes. Understanding of the insurer, MGA, wholesaler and premium finance landscape. Knowledge of excess and surplus lines business and state insurance regulatory authorities. Ideally, the successful candidate will bring some private equity background involving a medium to large multi-location portfolio company.
Scope
Candidates will bring a strong background in property & casualty solutions management and be familiar with regional differences with the U.S. Domestic travel of 25% will be expected.
