Job Summary:
The Sr. Application Support Specialist will support users and peers with Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, and general end user support including helpdesk. Additionally, attention to cyber security is essential to this role.
Essential job responsibilities:

  • Systems Administration: Manage and maintain Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Assist with development of dashboards and reports using Power BI to support business decision-making.
  • Application Development: Assist with creating and managing applications using Power Apps and automating workflows with Power Automate.
  • User Support: Provide support for Microsoft Office applications and other general end user support in a manufacturing environment resolving complex technical issues.
  • Directory Services: Administer Active Directory, including user account management, group policies, and security settings.
  • Cyber Security: Implement and monitor cyber security measures to protect against threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to support various IT projects and initiatives.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
Additional Consideration Given to Experience Supporting the Following:
  • IBMi Systems: Experience supporting ERP users in an IBMi systems environment, ensuring seamless integration with other IT infrastructure.
  • IBM Cognos: Business Intelligence Tools
  • IBM Planning Analytics (TM1): Reporting, analytics, collaboration.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, related field, or other qualifications based upon work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in the technologies listed above.
  • Desired Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+, or similar are preferred.
