Sr. DevOps Engineer

Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Sr. DevOps Engineer with min 10+ years’ experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our engineers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users.

Location: Chicago, IL, USA

You must be legally authorized to work in the USA without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Roles/Responsibilities:

1. Write CI CD pipeline to build Java application
2. Write code to integrate code quality scan using SonarQube
3. Write code to upload artifact to artifact repository or docker registry
4. Write code to automate unit test execution for Java
5. Write code to automate microservices deployment to AKS, Kubernetes
6. Write code to automate infrastructure provisioning in Azure

Required Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience in DevOps role
2. 2+ years of experience in writing Azure DevOps pipeline code in YAML (otherwise 5+ years of experience in other similar tools)
3. 2+ years of experience in microservices deployment to Kubernetes, AKS
4. 2+ years of experience in building Java applications using Maven or Gradle
5. Terraform knowledge will be a plus
6. Familiarity with Istio, Helm, SonarQube

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 – $141,500 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
