Job Description:

  • Oversee the management of tax exemption certificates, ensuring timely collection, validation, and organization
  • Support sales and use tax audits by providing necessary documentation, including tax exemption certificates, ERP reports
  • Collect and analyze data from ERP system to maintain internal controls and meet compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the review and maintenance of sales and purchase activities
  • Support tax refund projects by assisting in the recoverability of overpaid taxes.
  • Collaborate with third parties, internal stakeholders, auditors, and tax authorities to provide accurate and timely tax information.
  • Research and interpret tax laws, partnering with external advisors as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Review trial balances and other financial data to identify and analyze differences.
  • Calculate current and deferred tax expenses, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate income tax filings, including quarterly estimated payments, extensions, and annual returns, while maintaining detailed payment records.
  • Assist in preparing city income tax returns and submitting required payments.
  • Prepare income tax account reconciliations and coordinate tax-related journal entries.
  • Complete month-end closing activities, resolving issues and preparing required reports.
  • Collaborate on fixed asset calculations from a tax perspective.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts related to various taxes, including deferred tax and payable/receivable accounts.
  • Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and interacting with auditors.
  • Update and maintain workpapers, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tax process documentation.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation; CPA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of professional accounting experience with strong technical accounting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and tax software.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. corporate tax requirements, research, and documentation.
